Cancellation & Refund Policy

Official policy on cancellation charges and refund processing for IRCTC HeliYatra.

1. General Cancellation Policy (User-Initiated)

If a passenger chooses to cancel their booking, the refund amount depends on the time of cancellation prior to the departure timeslot:

Important Notes on User Cancellation

  • Mode of Cancellation: All online tickets must be cancelled through the official IRCTC HeliYatra website by the passenger. No other mode of cancellation will be entertained.
  • Non-Refundable Charges: Convenience fees, payment gateway charges, and transaction charges are strictly non-refundable in all cases.

2. Cancellation Due to Operator or Authorities

If the helicopter service is cancelled by the operator or authorities due to technical reasons, bad weather, or government orders:

  • Refund: Passengers are eligible for a full refund of the ticket fare (excluding convenience fees, payment gateway charges, and transaction charges).
  • Action Required: Passengers are advised to immediately submit their IRCTC-issued ticket or boarding pass at the concerned Helipad Counter to get it cancelled and duly stamped as "not flown".
  • Processing: For online bookings, the refund will be automatically processed to the original payment source within 5 to 7 working days.

3. Additional Information

  • No-Show / Late Arrival: Passengers who do not arrive for their scheduled slot, or fail to report 1 hour prior to departure, are generally not eligible for any refund.
  • Extra Weight Charges: Any extra weight charges paid directly by the passenger at the helipad will be refunded by the helicopter operator directly at the helipad in case of flight cancellation.
  • Complaints: If a refund is not received within the stipulated 5–7 working days, passengers must lodge a complaint via email to heliyatra@irctc.co.in within 15 days from the date of departure. No claims will be entertained after this 15-day window.
